Pension Actuarial Consultant - Big 4 Consultancy
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, regulatory knowledge, and experience delivering high-quality advisory services in pension finance and risk management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct actuarial valuations, updates, and assessments for pension schemes.
- Perform asset liability modelling and GMP equalisation modelling.
- Collaborate with partners or directors to assess client challenges, define project scope, and establish deliverables.
- Build, develop, and analyze bespoke models using actuarial techniques to inform client decision-making on cost, risk, and pension strategy.
- Review investment performance, asset allocation, and valuation reports to provide tailored advice.
- Draft comprehensive reports and develop actionable solutions based on modelling results.
- Attend client meetings alongside senior team members, providing insights and discussing outcomes.
Experience and Skills Required:
- Full or part qualification as a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries (FIA).
- Extensive knowledge of pension financing, risk management, and regulatory frameworks, including:
- Pensions Act 2005 and 2021
- The Pensions Regulator (TPR) codes of practice
- Actuarial standards (TAS 100, TAS 300)
- Proficiency in actuarial techniques, methodologies, and the use of software tools (Excel or similar) to create models for evaluating pension scheme risks and costs.
