I’m currently partnered with a prestigious national law firm, ranked as one of the Times Best Law Firms (2024), in the search for a Marketing Business Development Manager with a focus on the commercial property teams. This is a rare opportunity to be working with a property team, which is the largest and most specialized of its kind in the UK. They have over 100 lawyers that specialize purely in this area alone, including asset management, commercial property, property litigation, regeneration, planning, environment, procurement, and construction.


This law firm's BD and Marketing focus takes place through market-facing sectors, e.g., retail & leisure, real estate, investor and developer, etc. This role will be to support the Head of Property BD and the Director of BDM, alongside the Sector Head.


Day to Day:


  • Supporting the firm’s growth strategy through proactively driving sustainable growth and identifying market trends. Managing delivery elements, collaborating with teams and sectors, in line with the firm’s strategy.
  • Strong client focus, to become a market expert in the sector and client base.
  • Supporting fee earners in developing new and existing client relationships alongside cross-selling opportunities.
  • Identifying client challenges and understanding ways that the team can look to solve these as opportunities for growth.
  • Networking with clients at events.
  • Creating and executing campaigns, including developing marketing materials, e.g., brochures, presentations, etc.
  • Working alongside the press team to identify new opportunities and chances to promote internal work.
  • Collaborating with the external comms team to push fee earner content to the appropriate channels.
  • Organizing internal and external events and webinars. From participating to increasing awareness, researching, and bringing ideas from conception.
  • Financial analysis, reviewing data, and identifying opportunities and trends.


This role would be right for you if you have the following experience:


  • Extensive BD experience within a law firm or a wider PS setting.
  • Ideally an understanding of property law.
  • Strong communication skills alongside developing internal relationships with other team members and stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of successful BD growth and support with legal teams.
  • Event organization experience.
  • CRM proficiency, alongside other marketing tools and MS Office.
  • Strong attention to detail.
