Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Technical Architect with a strong background in enterprise banking to enhance our IT infrastructure capabilities, particularly within the Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The ideal candidate will have extensive multi-cloud platform experience, proficiency with orchestration tools such as Kubernetes and Docker, and in-depth knowledge of real-time data distribution with Confluent/Kafka, as well as data modelling expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and implementation of secure, reliable, and scalable infrastructure solutions on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP), aligning with the bank's strategic goals.
  • Evaluate and integrate multi-cloud solutions, ensuring compatibility and interoperability across platforms.
  • Architect and deploy containerization and orchestration solutions using Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Collaborate with development teams to create a robust infrastructure for deploying and managing Confluent/Kafka streams.
  • Develop and maintain data models that support the efficiency and integrity of data within the banking environment.
  • Conduct technical reviews and performance monitoring to ensure infrastructure stability and compliance with industry regulations.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on GCP and other cloud platforms, providing guidance and mentoring to other team members.
  • Lead and participate in cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex problems, ensuring minimal disruption to services.
  • Continuously research, evaluate, and apply emerging technologies to drive innovation and improve the bank's cloud infrastructure.



Job requirements

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Technical Architect or similar role within an enterprise banking environment.
  • Strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform services and architecture.
  • Demonstrated experience with multi-cloud strategies and managing cross-platform integrations.
  • Expertise in orchestration tools, particularly Kubernetes and Docker, for container management and deployment.
  • Experience with Confluent and Kafka for building real-time data distribution systems.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with compliance regulations and security protocols within the banking industry.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications in Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, or other cloud technologies.
  • Experience with additional cloud providers (e.g., AWS, Azure) and their services.
  • A track record of successful infrastructure project management and delivery.
