Copywriter

Edinburgh Hybrid

6 month contract


Take a lead on the delivery of communications and/or engagement for a business area, discrete specialism or significant project working with stakeholders promoting the perception and reputation of the Group. May also lead a small team or coach less experienced colleagues


Key Accountabilities:

  • Act as a source of professional expertise providing communications/engagement /consultancy advice to stakeholders and business areas within the Group
  • Approve, edit & write content for a range of more complex communications using appropriate channels to ensure clarity & consistency of message
  • Where applicable, build, maintain and influence external relationships within own area of specialism providing appropriate briefs in line with Group objectives
  • Provide corporate affairs input to support delivery of projects or where appropriate deliver projects and initiatives which may have some complexity within own specialism.
  • Where applicable, manage activity of suppliers to ensure service standards are met
  • Identify, escalate & mitigate emerging risks as appropriate to protect the reputation and interests of the Group and colleagues
  • Positively influence others by demonstrating core values and behaviours and where appropriate, manage, develop and motivate colleagues to support a high performing team
  • Manage self and, where appropriate, own team in the context of relevant risk policies and frameworks
  • Support agreed change projects to deliver continuous improvement
  • The candidate is required to support the build of information for our GenAI colleague solution, Therefore they won't be required to carry out all of the elements in the pre populated role profile - essentially we are looking for the input of someone with copywriting skills and the ability to build content in such a way as to generate the best possible results from the Gen AI.


The role will include:

  • Taking complex HR content currently presented using a variety of templates (word; powerpoint etc) and simplify language and readability, volume while translating to a word document in preparation for uploading to online template.
  • The intent of the content and tone of voice must be maintained in the course of re writing.
  • Experience of writing for an AI tool would be helpful but not essential. The ability to take evolving feedback from the AI tool provider and present content in an order and method that derives the best possible LLM answers to questions will be key.
  • Experience of building into an online template (Amaze or similar would be useful)
  • There will be requirement to work across a range of centre of excellence teams and juggle demands from various stakeholders.
