Our Business Services Team is seeking an CoSec Assistant Manager. This role will be instrumental in providing a wide range of company secretarial advice and documentation to colleagues and clients. As the team Assistant manager, you will facilitate supporting and nurturing team members to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality work and build on their understanding of all types of clients, whilst supporting them in gaining exposure to all business areas. Working closely with the CoSec manager, you will be a main go-to person in the team for day to day tea, based questions and backlog queries.

Your responsibilities

Here's a bit more on what you can expect to be doing day-to-day:

  • Assisting the CoSec Manager with the day-to-day activities supporting the management of the portfolio of entities to ensure clients’ corporate secretarial needs are met.
  • Ensure backlog of work is captured and presented to the CoSec Manager ensuring control of the client backlog.
  • Act as a sparring partner with the CoSec Manager to make decisions on key actions, and client escalations
  • Act as the main go-to within the CoSec team, including supporting the CoSec Advisors and Assistants with their day to day planning, and work escalations
  • Ongoing awareness, research into and application of new legislation requirements.
  • Feedback to CoSec Manager with researched suggestions for future growth opportunities.
  • Working closely with colleagues to scope out client requirements and ensure that client assignments are delivered within agreed budget(s) and specified timeframes.
  • Build and maintain technical knowledge in all company secretarial matters and use of specialist knowledge to add value to the CoSec team and client managers.


About you

We think you’ll need the following experience and qualifications to succeed in the role:

  • Experienced Company Secretary within professional services or incorporated companies, ideally with 3+ years hands on experience
  • Fully qualified in the relevant field(s) - either by qualifications (ICSA/CGI) or experience
  • Up to date knowledge of UK company law, regulation, and best practice
  • The ability to sub-manage a team and collaborate with colleagues effectively
  • Strong time management, attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Confident communication with clients and developing advisory skills
  • Strong range of IT skills and knowledge of database management systems
  • People management
  • Support the CoSec Manager with team
