We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive to join our client's property recoveries team in Bristol on a permanent basis.

This role is within their predominantly claimant-based Recoveries team. You will have an excellent chance to develop your legal skills and career within a supportive team and an ambitious firm.

What you will do

In this role, you will work within the Property Recoveries team, focusing primarily on claimant-based tasks. Depending on workloads, you will be responsible for:

  • Conducting general recoveries tasks, primarily investigatory work on fast and multi-track files.
  • Investigating liability on various general recovery claims, such as water escapes, flooding, impact, and fire damage.
  • Managing your own caseload, including negotiating quantum and settlement of damages with third parties.
  • Obtaining witness statements, contacting relevant parties for documents, drafting letters of claim, issuing proceedings, disclosure, instructing counsel/experts, and progressing files to trial.

You will:

  • Comply fully with DAC Beachcroft LLP protocols on billing and credit control, demonstrating high financial management on your files.
  • Aim to achieve a minimum budgeted annual target of 1440 chargeable hours.
  • Handle confidential information in line with the firm’s data security protocols.

Who you are

  • A Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive, or have substantial pre-qualification experience.
  • Interested in and willing to learn insurance property damage law, including basic principles of contract law and tort.
  • Possess good communication skills to liaise with clients, intermediaries, and colleagues.
  • Able to critically evaluate factual evidence, identify key legal arguments, and apply them effectively.
  • Show commitment, enthusiasm, and a professional attitude.
