We have an exciting opportunity for a Sous Chef to join our Kitchens team at The London Clinic, based at our main site in London (W1G 6BW). We are offering a competitive inclusive salary range of £38,946 to £42,435 per annum.

Job Profile:

As the Sous Chef, you will be responsible for supporting the Head Chef and Senior Sous Chef in the comprehensive management of all aspects of the kitchen operation, working towards building a team infrastructure which profitably delivers a world class food product on consistent basis. You will responsibly for supporting in the delivery of consistently high-quality food and monitoring stock rotation, ensuring that items not meeting standards are not accepted or served.

  • Job Type: Permeant, Full Time.
  • Shift Pattern: 40 hrs per week, straight shifts, Mon-Sun rota.
  • Job Location: 20 Devonshire Place, London, W1G 6 BW.
  • Salary: £38,946 to £42,435 per annum.

Key Duties:

  • Ensure the safe and correct production of food for all service operations as required as instructed by the head chef / senior sous chef
  • Report to the head chef / senior sous chef and maintain total responsibility for the day to day running of the kitchen and other catering outlets
  • Coordinates all daily tasks with the Head chef and senior sous chef.
  • Provide a full handover for each shift in the format chosen and implemented by the head chef / senior sous with no deviation.
  • Supervise the junior cooks to aid their development and ensure the standards set are met.

Skills & Experience:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Food Hygiene or higher essential, and NVQ Level 2 or higher in Professional Cookery highly desirable.
  • 2 years' experience as Junior Sous Chef OR 1 years' experience as Sous Chef; hotel or large-scale catering background desirable.
  • Full understanding of UK food production laws & requirements.
  • Fluent English.
  • Fish monger & butchery.
  • Punctual, with a willingness to learn.
