We are looking for a highly experienced Consultant with skills and experiences across Business Analysis and User-Centred Service Design to work with the Practice Lead to help shape the newly formed Analysis & Design practice.

The Analysis & Design practice includes the skillsets of Business Analysis, Technical Analysis, and User-Centred Service Design. For this role we are looking for a depth of skills in Business Analysis. Skills or experience in User-Centred Service Design and in a technology-led environment are advantageous.

As a Principal Consultant in the Analysis & Design Practice your role covers four areas:

  • Project leadership - you will lead the initial phases of our engagements, building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, while guiding multi-disciplinary teams of analysts, designers, and developers to uncover challenges, problems, and opportunities and recommend impactful solutions.
  • Sales support - you will work with our sales and delivery teams to create proposals and project plans, drawing from your experience to specify the most appropriate methods, tools, and approaches for the challenge at hand.
  • People management – you will be comfortable managing more junior members of the practice, supporting their day-to-day wellbeing and professional development.
  • Practice development – you will work closely with the Practice Lead to shape and grow the capability, and further integrate it with our other practices and service offerings.


This is a billable role, where you will spend 60-80% of your time leading and overseeing client projects.


To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have extensive experience working as a Senior or Lead Business Analyst or Service Designer in digital consulting and technical implementation environment.
  • Be experienced with a wide range of research, analysis, and user-centred design methods and tools
  • Conduct robust and effective research and analysis, presenting findings and recommendations to stakeholders and facilitating informed decision-making.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams of analysts, designers, and developers to uncover business and user challenges and opportunities, helping client stakeholders to prioritise these based on potential benefit.
  • Work collaboratively with your peers in the Technology practice to design, prototype, and specify solutions that balance business and user requirements with technical feasibility.
  • Design and deliver highly-engaging, collaborative workshops with both client and internal stakeholders
  • Have significant prior experience of working with technology teams to design and deliver solutions across agile and traditional delivery methods.
  • Have prior experience as a manager or mentor of more junior colleagues, successfully supporting their development and progression over time.
  • Have excellent storytelling, presentation, and facilitation skills.


Desirable but not essential:

  • Hold, or have recently held, SC clearance
  • Have experience working in-line with the Government Digital Service Standard
