Job Description: Electrical Installation Project Manager – Commercial Solar and Battery Storage

The role:
Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit a highly experienced Technical Project Manager with expertise in solar and battery storage systems to oversee the design, development, and construction of multiple solar PV projects across the UK for major private and public sector organisations.
You will essentially be responsible for implementing the delivery of multiple solar installations and ensure that milestones and key deliverables are achieved throughout a project’s life cycle. You will be ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget and to the highest quality. This role requires a blend of technical acumen, project management expertise, and a passion for clean energy solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage a project from contract award right through to handover
- Develop project programmes, monitor progress and report to client and Operations Manager
- Procure subcontract labour, materials and ancillary items
- Preparation and monitoring of project budgets and control overspending
- Liaise with DNO to submit and manage G99 applications for connections
- Ensure PV installations are completed by subcontractors within the programme schedule and budgets as per contract
- Confident delivery of briefing and coordinating activities on contracts
- Ensure compliance of quality and safety of works at all times
- Serve as the technical point of contact for clients, suppliers, and regulatory agencies.
- Effective management of multiple sites and respective site managers
- Continuously monitor and maintain excellent levels of H&S on site
- Create & review RAMS, CPP’s and other H&S documents
- Be fully responsible for the daily operations of the project delivery team
- Accurate and regular reporting of project performance
- Attend and report on meetings throughout the project(s)
- At project completion provide a detailed review of performance against budget, identifying areas for improvement
- Site surveys to be undertaken as required
- Flexible travel to and from sites across UK is required
Essential skills:
- 18th Edition Electrical Regulations Qualification
- Commercial Solar PV experience
- Experience managing technical aspects of solar PV and battery storage projects.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management and electrical works and be able to demonstrate a proven track record in delivering large scale solar PV projects.
- Ability to read and understand electrical designs from specifications and surveys
- Must understand site H&S requirements and demonstrate understanding of current legislation & regulations
- ECS card/ CSCS
- Strong technical background in system design, performance modelling, and grid interconnection.
- Clean Driving Licence and ability to travel to various sites.
Advantageous:
- NVQ or City & Guilds in electrical installation
- Central Inverter and HV experience
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
