Job Title Industrial Placement Submarines Project Manager

Location Barrow (Cumbria)

Start Date 23rd June 2025

BAE Systems do offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements, however it is expected on our Industrial Placement Programme you will be required to attend your site 3-4 days per week. Please note, this may be subject to change in line with the needs of the business. The hybrid working arrangements including which days you are required to work on site/remotely will be outlined by your line manager.

What you will be doing
Take responsibility for ensuring that we deliver on our customer commitments at the right time, at the right cost and to the best possible quality. Your work as an Undergraduate Project Manager will give you the breadth of experience to succeed and tasks could include controlling budgets and expenditure, covering the governance of change within projects, resourcing, fulfilling contractual requirements or interfacing with our customers. You’ll also review performance, evaluate risks and take decisions to optimise project success

Duties and Responsibilities
• You might also get involved in reviewing performance, analysing risks and informing decisions to optimise project success.
• You will receive support to enable yourself to gain a breadth of skills and business experience to be a success in this field.

Skills

As a minimum requirement you’ll need to be on track to obtain, a 2.2 in your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree Project Management, Mathematics, IT, English, Engineering, Science or Business – including Law and Psychology.

To be considered for this role you must be returning to university to complete your degree.

Export Control/Security

These restrictions mean that factors such as your nationality, any nationalities you may have previously held, and your place of birth can restrict the roles you are eligible to perform within the organisation. All applicants must as a minimum achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard. Many roles also require higher levels of National Security Vetting where applicants must typically have 5 to 10 years of continuous residency in the UK depending on the vetting level required for the role, to allow for meaningful security vetting checks.
