JOB PURPOSE:
The remit of the Senior PMO & the scope of the role traditionally spans both Managed Services (MS) & the Consulting Departments within Symatrix, as Project Delivery is driven from both areas. Consulting deliver the medium-to-large Implementations, with Managed Services supporting on smaller deliveries.
You will support the Delivery Leads (MS) & Project Managers (Consulting) in the delivery of Projects, ensuring the correct procedural controls & governance processes are being executed including key artefact delivery, tracking & reporting. You will also oversee the critical process of allocation of resources across Project work; Symatrix operate a model across Managed Services and Consulting, utilising capacity in the Teams as effectively as possible and this role will be crucial in building on the existing processes.
You will be(come) a key connection across the business, driving the maintenance & improvement of Project Management standards across the departments improving efficiencies and output quality of the practice.
The role will also include Managing the PMO Team Members and some Project Management to deliver small to medium Oracle Projects for selected key Clients.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Project Management Office Development:
- The ability to Develop and run the PMO function within Symatrix leading associated meetings as necessary..
- Develop positive relationships across all teams to enable the PMO to provide support including facilitation, tracking and reporting on project progress
- Ensure the effective tracking and communication of project status, deliverables, risks, controls and metrics as appropriate across deliveries
- Produce PMO board packs to support standard board agenda
- Oversee & deliver the small and medium change work and project work
- Own and deliver high standards of project delivery artefacts driving improvement activities where required building towards successful completion to time, cost and quality into live service
- Support the creation and improvement of internal Business Operating Model processes and supporting project management tools
- Through your PMO function, develop and maintain the relevant parts of internal project systems (SalesForce Customer Portal and Kantata), ensuring they are fit for purpose
- In Kanata ensure the administration is timely and accurate including correct time code allocation, timesheet actuals and completion, reporting timesheet actuals against deliveries, period management for project accounting. Also supporting quarterly system testing and release as required
- Ensure high quality, timely efficient delivery of project reporting through systems where appropriate
- Act as a key contact point for PM queries across Managed Services and Consulting and advocate for and assurance of best practices in project management across all teams, supported by the Project Management professionals elsewhere in Symatrix as required
- Ensure stakeholder mapping across deliveries
- Maintain processes to ensure project management documentation, reports and plans are relevant, accurate and complete, Track and report on project performance, providing a real-time and comprehensive view of all deliveries
- Share lessons learned and best practices across projects and update processes and documentation based upon lessons.
Project Resourcing:
- Lead and deliver improvements to the resourcing of projects across MS and Consulting, working collaboratively with the Managed Services Director and Consulting Director to manage incoming demand
- Schedule and plan resources across MS and Consulting, flagging gaps and risks as appropriate and work on remediation plans with the Directors as required
- Lead the relevant processes and associated meetings to drive efficient resource allocation across project deliveries driving high resource utilisation supporting key decision makers where needed with suitable planning tools and statistics.
Person Specification - Knowledge / Experience / Skills / Qualities:
ESSENTIAL:
- You MUST BE UK BASED (the work cannot be carried-out from outside of the UK (you will need to confirm that you are UK-based as part of your application)
- You need to be eligible for UK Government Security Clearance at SC Level
NOTE that you are not required to have this Clearance already, but you should ensure your eligibility for this level of Clearance, prior to making your application (you will need to confirm that you are ELIGIBLE for the Clearance as a part of your application)

- YOU MUST HAVE AN ORACLE CLOUD IT BACKGROUND (you will need to confirm that you have ORACLE CLOUD IT EXPERIENCE as a part of your application)
- Proven PMO co-ordination & Leadership / Thought-Leadership experience
- Able to Lead & to influence others in reaching consensus and driving high standards of Delivery
- Strong relationship-building & interpersonal skills
- Experience in managing multiple resources & their allocation across different pieces of work
- A good understanding of Project Delivery & acceptance processes within a fast-paced business environment
- Demonstrated capability for problem-solving, decision-making, sound judgment and assertiveness
- Excellent financial acumen including budget tracking Systems
- Experienced user of MS Project and MS Office toolset (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Professional and positive approach
- A supportive individual who thinks of helping others succeed as success in itself

- Ability to thrive in a busy environment
- Effective communicator at all levels with excellent verbal & written communication skills

- Project Management Qualification
- Experience in working in Oracle deliveries
Desirable
- Experience working in a joint Managed Services and Consulting environment
