Client: Canada Life UK Ltd
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (Potters Bar location) 2 to 3 days
Contractor Rate: £350 per day
Assignment Duration: 6 months
Start Date: 1st September 2024
Positions Available: 3
Special Working Conditions: None specified (e.g., travel, weekend, overtime, on-call)
Role Overview:
Canada Life UK Ltd is enhancing its Cloas policy administration system to support new product designs and the development of a data warehouse in CDP. The selected candidates will serve as Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in the Cloas system, providing essential support for these enhancements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, integrate, test, and transition software applications within the Cloas system.
- Provide ongoing production support, including application monitoring and tuning.
- Participate in project planning and contribute to the evolution of the software development environment.
- Lead other developers in support and maintenance tasks.
- Oversee daily production support and remediate business applications within the Corporate line of business.
- Develop and execute test plans.
- Participate in incident monitoring and rotation duties.
Key Skills/Experience:
- 5 to 6 years of experience in designing, developing, and testing within the Cloas system.
- Strong understanding of the Cloas data structure and interfaces.
- Proficiency in mainframe technologies such as CICS, Cobol, DB2, and JCL.
- Experience in the insurance industry.
Person Specification:
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work in a client-facing role.
- Team leadership and collaborative team member skills.
