Autism Support Assistant | Barking & Dagenham

Do you have a passion for working with children with SEN? Are you dedicated to ensure all pupils have the same opportunities in Education…?

An inclusive school in Barking & Dagenham are looking for caring and hardworking Autism Support Assistants, with previous experience supporting children with SEN.

As an Autism Support Assistant, you will be supporting pupils 1:1 in an Additional Resource Provision, working closely with the SENDCo and trained professionals.

Main responsibilities of an Autism Support Assistant…

  • Working 1:1 or in small groups with children with ASC, autism, and ADHD.
  • Supporting the SENDCO and SEN professionals supporting children outside of mainstream education.
  • Ensuring that all children have a safe learning environment and are assisted in their learning and development.


What do I need to become an Autism Support Assistant?

  • Obtained a 1:1 or 2:1 Degree in Psychology from a UK University
  • Has previous experience and a passion for working with children.
  • Has excellent communication skills, patience and resilience.
