Our company culture is centred around collaboration, where all colleagues, regardless of their role, work together to minimise risk and shorten delivery times. Our team consists of highly-skilled cross-functional consultants, analysts, and support staff.
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with a strong background in engineering, process automation, and data (PAD), asset management, and tooling expertise. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in bridging the gap between business needs and engineering solutions, focusing on optimizing processes, managing tools, and supporting asset lifecycle management to drive operational excellence. This position will partner closely with cross-functional teams to identify business needs, translate them into technical requirements, and work with engineering teams to implement effective solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed analysis of current processes, tools, and workflows within the engineering, PAD, and asset management domains.
- Identify improvement opportunities and develop comprehensive business cases, considering cost, risk, and benefit analysis.
- Elicit, document, and manage functional and non-functional requirements through workshops, interviews, and stakeholder collaboration.
- Translate complex business needs into technical specifications, ensuring alignment with engineering objectives.
- Lead initiatives to automate and optimize engineering workflows, utilizing PAD systems to streamline operations and improve data accuracy.
- Analyze and integrate data across platforms, ensuring data-driven decision-making and reporting consistency.
- Collaborate with IT and engineering teams to implement systems that enhance real-time data tracking, monitoring, and reporting.
- Provide expertise in managing the full lifecycle of engineering assets, from acquisition through maintenance to disposal.
- Develop asset management strategies to maximize asset utilization and minimize downtime.
- Lead the design and implementation of asset tracking systems, ensuring accurate and timely data capture for inventory, maintenance schedules, and usage.
- Lead the assessment, selection, and implementation of tools and systems to support engineering operations.
- Ensure tools are aligned with business goals, scalable, and capable of handling the complexity of engineering processes.
- Provide ongoing support, training, and troubleshooting for engineering tools, acting as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, finance, and IT teams to ensure that business requirements are clearly understood and met.
- Facilitate workshops, meetings, and presentations to communicate findings, solutions, and progress to stakeholders at all levels.
- Manage and prioritize conflicting stakeholder requirements, balancing technical feasibility and business impact.
- Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of engineering projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and scope.
- Create and maintain project documentation, including business cases, requirement specifications, process flow diagrams, and user stories.
- Support the engineering team in testing and validating system changes and new solutions.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in PAD, asset management, and tooling.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve engineering and asset management practices.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the organization.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience as a Business Analyst, with a strong focus on engineering, process automation, asset management, and tooling.
- Extensive experience in process automation and data (PAD) management, engineering systems, and tools implementation.
- Proven track record in managing the full lifecycle of engineering assets and improving tooling efficiency.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams, interfacing between business stakeholders and technical engineering teams.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of asset management platforms, tooling systems, and engineering software.
- Experience with process automation tools and data management platforms (e.g., SAP, Maximo, or similar).
- Familiarity with engineering concepts, lifecycle management, and the technical aspects of tooling systems.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau).
Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in project management (PMP, PRINCE2) or business analysis (CBAP).
- Experience with Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira or Confluence.
- Engineering certifications or experience in industries such as manufacturing, utilities, or technology.
Benefits:

- Benefit from a flexible work environment focused on deliverable outcomes.
- Receive private medical insurance through Aviva.
- Enjoy the benefits of a company pension plan through Nest.
- 25 days of annual leave plus UK bank holidays.
- Access Perkbox, a global employee rewards platform offering discounts, perks, and wellness resources.
- Participate in a generous employee referral program.
- A highly collaborative and collegial environment with opportunities for career advancement.
- Be encouraged to take bold steps and embrace a mindset of experimentation.
- Choose your preferred device, PC or Mac.
