Our client is building a diverse portfolio of private brands in consumer goods, spanning a wide range of categories and quality tiers. As they continue to grow, we are seeking a talented Retail Vendor Manager to lead Private Brand sourcing and scaling initiatives within their grocery business. This role encompasses both physical stores and online platforms, aiming to ensure the long-term success of their private label products.


This is a 9-months contract, offering up to £55.000 per annum, pro rata (PAYE).


Responsibilities:

  • Act as the business owner for assigned categories, possessing a comprehensive understanding of all internal and external variables that impact the business.
  • Have an in-depth knowledge of seasonality and global trends/events, continually monitoring competitor and industry developments.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring projects meet tight deadlines.
  • Conduct financial analyses of business opportunities to meet and exceed revenue and profitability goals.
  • Own forecasting, monitoring, understanding, and reporting on vendor performance.
  • Drive strategic supply chain projects and promotions to achieve business objectives.
  • Support broader Private Brands initiatives, including selection expansion, vendor negotiations, and engagement.


Requirements:

  • Experience in a buying role.
  • Experience in the grocery sector is preferred but not essential.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.


Skills:

  • Strong analytical and financial acumen.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
  • Proficiency in category management, pricing, inventory management, supply chain, marketing, and finance.
