The Grid/Technical Engineer will play a key role in supporting the development of energy projects by managing all aspects of grid connection from feasibility to project commissioning. The role involves grid analysis, conducting grid connection and land feasibility studies, providing market intelligence, and overseeing the technical and commercial appraisal of grid connections. The successful candidate will collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to optimize solutions, reduce costs, mitigate risks, and ensure timely project delivery.


As our new colleague you will:


  • Grid analysis and opportunity identification. Conduct grid connection and land feasibility studies and contribute to the formulation and execution of the grid connection strategy.
  • Provide grid market intelligence and data analysis to support the development strategy.
  • Grid connection. Managing grid and design from the early stage up to the grid connection/completion.
  • Technical and commercial appraisal of the grid connection, from offer stage to project commissioning, to identify the potential for solution optimisation and cost reduction; risk identification and mitigation; and connection timescales review.
  • Provide technical support and management for project development including layouts, SLDs, technical reporting, and due diligence.
  • Stakeholder management and relationship building with grid Distribution and Transmission Operators, consultants, ICPs, government agencies, and other relevant players.


Ideally you have:


  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, GIS, and PVsyst.
  • 1-2 years previous experience in the renewable/energy industry, PV or BESS technology is highly desired.
  • Good understanding of the grid network, design, and regulatory framework.
  • Understanding of grid contracts and commercial.
  • Proactive and analytical mindset, with a positive approach to challenges and problem-solving.
  • Team player, who enjoys working within a dynamic team and environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively present and communicate analysis and data.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Strong analytical prowess and organizational abilities.
