Lead Application Support Engineer required to lead and manage the Application Support team to provide application support, ensuring incidents and escalations are resolved efficiently and effectively.


As the Lead Application Support Engineer you will lead a small team and acting as key contact for critical incidents. You will establish and maintain strong communication channels with business stakeholders, internal and 3rd party support teams.


As the Lead Application Support Engineer you will provide strategic oversight and proactive support & maintenance across the application landscape and Support internal projects with expert technical design reviews and oversee environment builds and deployment.


As the Lead Applications Support Engineer you will ensure the resolution of incidents within agreed SLA's with continuous improvement in mind. You will apply advanced problem-solving skills to recreate, debug, identify, and resolve complex issues along with conducting thorough root cause analysis of issues to prevent re occurrence and implement long-term solutions.


You will need as much of the following experience as possible:


  • Windows Server, IIS & Active Directory Services.
  • Strong knowledge of T-SQL (MS SQL) and/or PL/SQL.
  • Team lead or management experience
  • Proficiency in minor programming or scripting (.NET / PowerShell)
  • Proven experience using an IT Service Management Tool (e.g. SCSM)
  • Worked in an applications support role


The following skills are a bonus so they would be seen as helpful but not essential:


  • Understanding of IT service management processes such as ITIL
  • Experience of Microsoft Dynamics
  • Azure IaaS / PaaS
  • Software deployment processes/systems
