Our customer is a leading designer and manufacturer of advanced sensors, serving a wide array of sectors. To support continued growth, they are looking for a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to drive the development of next-generation instrumentation.


About The Role:

As their Principal Mechanical Design Engineer, you will lead the design and development of cutting-edge instrumentation. You will:

  • Serve as the design authority for all electronics, software, and mechanical design activities.
  • Drive projects from concept through to medium-volume manufacturing.
  • Manage and mentor a team of engineers, ensuring projects meet time and budgetary constraints.
  • Oversee product design, testing, and on-site commissioning.
  • Engage in customer liaison and business development activities.


About You:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering with extensive experience in high-tech design environments.
  • Strong grasp of mechanical principles and ability to translate theory into practical, field-ready products.
  • Expertise in producing detailed engineering drawings and managing design documentation.
  • Excellent leadership and project management skills, with the ability to guide and develop a technical team.
  • Collaborative and communicative, comfortable working with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative solutions


Security Clearance:

UK passport holders only, with proof of residency in the UK for the last 5 years. Security clearance will be applied for upon appointment.
