At United Living, we have one of the largest specialist in-house teams for project management, acquisition, design, construction, and maintenance in the UK.

Job Description

Summary of Position

The post holder will be joining an experienced, specialist new build housing construction contractor, who have a strong pipeline of projects. Capitalising on their growing reputation, expanding client base and strong position, in the development of multi-family high-rise properties through to single family living

As the business expands and the need for ensuring compliance grows, it has been identified that a dedicated role focusing on Construction Quality is essential.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Implement an ISO accredited quality management system within our high rise/mixed use and residential business units
  • Ensure that the company fulfils its obligations with regards to building control, building warranty providers, mortgage lenders and building safety regulator
  • Ensure that projects maintain the golden thread of information.
  • Manage Quality KPIs and monitor trends in order to advise on common issues.
  • Audit implementation of the electronic QA system and provide monthly reports to operations and board directors
  • Work with the site teams in the development of Project Quality Plans and Package Inspection and test plans
  • Promote a right first-time culture on site to prevent delays, re-work, and re-visits.
  • Maintain own CPD with knowledge an awareness of current material and construction legislation & research.
  • Keep up to date with the latest technological advances, giving recommendations or warnings as appropriate.
  • Deliver CPD sessions and Quality Toolbox talks to site teams.

Experience

  • Experience in high rise / commercial construction as well as housebuilding (essential)
  • Significant work experience within the construction industry in Site management or similar QA role.
  • Knowledge of both low rise traditional housing and Highrise projects.
  • Use of the Aconex Field or similar electronic Quality Management software
  • Experience overseeing quality within a Construction Mortgage Lending (CML) environment (preferable)

Qualifications & Training

  • Construction related degree or diploma. (preferred not essential)
  • Professional membership of (MCIOB/MCABE/MICWCI). (preferred not essential)
  • Relevant Construction Skills Certificate Card
  • Proficient in Microsoft office
  • Valid UK driving Licence.
