Team/Role Overview
The team focuses on coordinating and delivering cross-Banking and International Risk (BIR) efforts such as regular inputs into senior risk papers and dashboards, drafting and reviewing monthly and quarterly reports and updates (e.g. State of Risk Letter) to risk committees and the Board, as well as other regular / ad-hoc updates for the BIR Chief Risk Office (CRO). The team also works closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) on reviewing and improving the BIR suite of reports including leading suitable aggregation and visualisation for Senior Management and supporting BIR leadership on content for key internal and external materials.

What you'll do
  • Lead key team deliveries such as weekly, monthly and quarterly updates to BIR CRO and senior risk leadership (e.g. such as the State of Risk submission for BIR.
  • Review key BIR reports to ensure they remain fit for purpose, while also tracking key portfolio movements and risk developments.
  • Engage and lead work with Risk Data, Analytics, Reporting and Technology (DART) to improve portfolio reporting and support any optimisation work as relevant.
  • Develop portfolio analytics and drive insights through regular analysis of the portfolio.
  • Work on the remediation of any identified internal or regulatory issues as needed that the team may be required to support.
  • Work closely with SMEs across 1st and 2nd Line of Defence to help identify, measure, monitor and report on risks to the portfolio including supporting the BIR CRO as needed.
  • Support the BIR CAO and Chief of Staff (CoS) on any other deliverables.
What we'll need from you
  • Experience in credit risk management experience in the financial services industry.
  • Strong knowledge of wholesale & counterparty credit products & frameworks from a 2nd Line of Defence perspective, and understanding of the data behind them.
  • Ability to interpret statistical analysis & data to convey insights in simple terms for senior audiences; view data holistically and remain detail oriented to synthesise, prioritise and deliver results with urgency.
  • Good working knowledge of analytical tools such as Tableau and ability to work with large data sets.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products - ability to create Board and senior management quality drafts of updates, presentations etc..
  • Understanding of credit portfolio management concepts (e.g. portfolio limits, understanding of concentration risks across country, sector, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of stress testing frameworks, understanding of quantitative & analytical tools, and methods used in the design of stress testing models for use in loan and Counterparty Credit Risk (CCR) portfolios.
  • Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication.
  • Proven ability to obtain support and buy-in across a wide range of internal and external audiences. Demonstrated ability to translate strategic plans into actionable steps.
  • Demonstrated work ethic and influencing skills, and working closely with risk leadership.
