The Opportunity

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated Sales professional to double or triple their salary with bonuses. The company provides energy advisory services to SMEs and large corporations, achieving significant saving to clients' energy bills. The products are very compelling, which is why the company is growing.


We are looking for a Business Development Manager to join a growing and friendly business. You will report to the Head of Direct Sales, who is brilliant to work with. He is professional, personable and very well respected at the company.

The Role


New Business Development (60% is inbound)

  • Attend networking events alongside the Head of Sales, build strong relationships
  • Work with warm inbound leads
  • Obtain new leads by asking for referrals from happy customers and acquire testimonials
  • Ask open questions to understand prospective clients’ challenges, and adapt solutions accordingly
  • Audit current energy bills and provide feedback to quote on their energy renewal
  • Price SME and Corporate opportunities and provide quotations to customers in a timely manner
  • Be a trusted advisor to clients on their energy options considering market forces, provide consultative advice and explore their future plans
  • Accurately profile prospects; collect all information required, including Letter of Authorities


Account Management (existing clients)

  • Inherit clients from the current team
  • Assist existing clients with energy renewals
  • Conduct the activities listed above
  • Visit new and existing clients in person when appropriate
  • Negotiate prices for corporate tenders and present to clients in a professional environment
  • Hand over administration work to the operations team when appropriate


The Person

  • Previous Sales experience at least 3 years’ experience is desired, including field sales experience
  • Ability to solve detailed problems and use own initiative
  • Numeric and analytical
  • Good communication skills
  • Confident Telephone Manner
  • Enthusiastic, hardworking, ambitious person
  • Loves visiting clients, understanding their needs, and delivering high quality service
  • Fun and charismatic
  • Great attention to detail and organisational skills

  • Contract: Permanent
  • Remuneration: £30,000 + bonus scheme
  • Location: London, one day per week in the Newbury office
