Job Purpose:

  • Senior Relationship Banker (ED level) supporting FAB UK’s corporate banking business to achieve the London branch strategy / targets and to build and develop a solid portfolio of clients, including corporates, sponsors and fund finance.
  • Identify and originate business in line with the group strategy.
  • First line of defense from a credit risk / operational perspective.
  • Portfolio management of existing clients, with a continued focus on the identification and execution of ancillary products.
  • Direct line management and development responsibilities for junior members of the GBC UK team.


Key Accountabilities:

  • The role forms part of the first line of defense and is an important function around credit stewardship, business development, portfolio management, new deal origination and execution and in the prevention and detection of financial crime
  • Focus on core clients and originate new business opportunities with target clients in line with Group strategy, including corporates, sponsors and fund finance.
  • Negotiate and develop Term Sheet and mandate letter…. etc. for new transactions.
  • Examine & resolve credit, market and operational risk aspects of each transaction and wider relationship.
  • Contribute to the budgeted business target of the Branch/Bank, with annual new to bank (NTB) UK targets and Group ancillary business
  • Promote and support senior leadership to promote the FAB Brand generally in the London market including engagement with relevant trade bodies, Banking Associations, advisors and coordinate connections between senior management of London Branch, Head Office, clients and prospect clients.
  • Identify & develop-cross selling opportunities and increase the-cross sell ratio with key clients and drive new client onboarding business cases.
  • Maintain the credit quality of the clients’ relationships within the Portfolio to an acceptable level set by the Bank’s management
  • Ensure Account Plans are prepared and maintained for all key clients.
  • Close cooperation across internal functions
  • Ensure all credit reviews are submitted on time and agreed conditions are met.
  • Fully understand the Bank’s Products and associated processes.
  • Ensure all clients files/documents are maintained
  • Adhere to process KPIs and management system requirements, ORM, BCP & Internal Audit Requirements.
  • Direct line management and development responsibilities for junior members of the GBC UK team


Qualification:

  • Extensive previous experience in the field of corporate banking and relationship management
  • Proven experience in new transaction negotiation, documentation (LMA) and execution
  • Desirable: degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or relevant discipline
  • Sound credit analysis skills
  • Knowledge of customer relationship management (CRM) practices
  • Problem-solving attitude
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Aptitude for fostering positive relationships
  • Teamwork and leadership skills
  • Customer-oriented mindset
