You will work closely with our People Ops team and partner with key stakeholders to implement best practices, streamline processes, and set our business up for successful growth.
As a Senior HR Generalist at billups, you will be the first point of contact for our employees in the assigned geography. Your main focus areas will be:
Employee Engagement:
- Develop and implement initiatives to improve employee engagement and satisfaction.
- Together with the Director of HR and cross functional teams, conduct employee surveys, analyze results, and work with management to address concerns.
- Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture that aligns with the organization’s values and goals.
- Initiate fun and creative ways of connecting the team in a remote-first work environment.
Employee Relations:
- Manage employee relations issues, including handling grievances, disputes, and disciplinary actions.
- Ensure compliance with UK and EMEA employment laws and regulations.
- Facilitate communication between management and employees to foster healthy and effective feedback.
Employee Performance and Development:
- Work together with employees and managers to help identify areas for development and growth.
- Partner with L&D to enhance employee skills and competencies.
- Work with managers to build career development paths and succession plans.
- Support the performance review process and engage with managers and employees to help them provide effective feedback.
- Implement performance management initiatives aligned with company goals.
Employee Onboarding and Offboarding:
- Design and implement onboarding programs that will thrive with our remote-first culture.
- Manage off boarding processes and conduct exit interviews.
- Work closely with leadership to highlight areas for improvement from the feedback received.
Compliance & Documentation:
- Manage all employment agreements and documentation for your region.
- Maintain Employee Handbooks and be an expert guide for our employees herein.
- Build and maintain UK specific people processes to ensure we remain compliant.
- Ensure HR policies and practices comply with UK employment laws and regulations.
- Manage risks related to employment law, including health and safety, data protection, and equality.
- Stay updated on legal changes and advise the business on necessary adjustments to HR policies.
Change Management:
- Support organizational change initiatives, including mergers, restructures, and cultural transformations.
- Develop and implement communication plans to ensure employees understand and engage with change initiatives.
- Work with managers to manage the human impact of change, including addressing concerns and providing support.
Project Management:
- You will have the opportunity to work on special projects as assigned, or work on larger cross functional projects for the global HR team.
You will report directly to the EMEA HR Director based in the Netherlands and work closely with the Payroll Specialist based in Spain, Talent Acquisition, L&D and be part of the greater People Operations Team, who are based in the US. We are a supportive, collaborative and professional team where your ideas will be greatly valued. We will encourage and empower you to take initiative and drive impactful change in your region
Requirements:
- 5+ years of HR experience in the UK and one or more EU countries.
- HR Certification is preferred
- Strong knowledge of HR practices, people experience, operations, and employee engagement.
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of scaling operations.
- HRIS management experience (we use BambooHR and Deel)
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced, scale up environment
- Is approachable, responsive, credible with a customer service mindset
- Endeavors to stay up to date on laws and regulations impacting our business
- Proactive, problem-solving and hands on mindset
- Excellent Communication skills. Fluent in written and spoken English. Additional European languages are desirable and preferred.
