White Horse Employment are very pleased to be supporting a Wiltshire based housing association with their search for a Senior Account Manager. Our client is passionate about providing affordable, safe and secure homes to communities, helping to tackle the current housing crisis.
They’re now looking for a Senior Account Manager to join the Income and Money Advise team and manage a portfolio of rent arrears cases, with the end goal of preventing customers from losing their homes. This is a senior role and will be responsible for handling any escalated cases, representing organisations in court and providing technical legal expertise.
Responsibilities of the role include:
- Managing a portfolio of current rent debt cases escalated from account managers. Overseeing all breach of court orders, high value debts, risk of eviction and all other escalated circumstances.
- Undertaking telephone interviews, home visits and office visits to investigate customer’s circumstances and possible causes of non-payment.
- Preparing applications and warrants for evictions.
- Attending court, overseeing all applications, and preparing and serving witness statements.
- Liaising with the relevant councils and customers around Housing Benefit issues and supporting with Universal Credit claims.
- Have a comprehensive understanding of the current benefits system, including Universal Credit and providing appropriate advice and support.
Skills and attributes required:
- Excellent knowledge of the welfare benefit system and able to give helpful benefits advice.
- Experience within a debt recovery or housing management role preferably within the housing sector.
- Exceptional, up to date understanding of housing benefit, Universal Credit and the ability to share this with others.
- Strong knowledge of all legal and court proceedings around rent arrears recovery.
- Proven ability to prepare legal cases and represent them in court for the recovery of rent arrears.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with challenging people in difficult/sensitive situations.
