Company Description

Formtech Composites provides design, development, and manufacturing services for composite components supporting motorsports, aerospace, defense, medicals and high-end automotive. The company was created in 2008 and has a bespoke knowledge and customer base. The engineering services cover design ( CATIA V ), Finite Elements Analysis ( ALTAIR ) and material characterisations ( INSTRON material testing ). Formtech uses autoclave and heated press processes as the main manufacturing methods. The scope of production varies from prototype to small serial production.


Role Description

This is a full-time Senior Composite Project Manager role located in Greater Oxford Area. The Senior Composite Project Manager will be responsible for developing composite solutions, and leading the team of composite engineers and project engineers to manufacture composite parts that meet project requirements. The Senior Composite Project Manager will lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams and utilize state-of-the-art equipment to design and manufacture composite parts for various high-performance applications, such as aerospace, defense, medicals, and high-end automotive. Managing engineering projects and provide cost estimating and technical documentation. Effectively communicate and provide design expertise to potential customers and involvement in the sales strategy. A person with a proven network, able to bring important leads into our business preferably


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in the composite industry with customer contact into the aerospace, defense, medicals and high-end automotive industry
  • Knowledgeable about composite materials and manufacturing processes, lay-up design, and applied mechanics
  • Experience leading a team of composite engineers and providing mentorship to less experienced team members
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines


The compensation depends on the qualification of the candidate and varies between £50,000 to £65,000 p.a. plus an annual bonus depending on the company and individual performance.


The ideal candidate will have experience in managing a project from start to finish. This candidate will be able to create a plan of action which will consider a fixed timeline and evaluate risks. This individual should also have experience managing people and be an effective communicator.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee completion of project
  • Develop plan of action including schedule, resources and work plan
  • Assess risks and establish contingency plans
  • Manage work and inputs from variety of stakeholders


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or preferred Master in Engineering
  • 7+ years of experience in project management or relevant fields
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver a completed project
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience working with a team
