About The Channel Company

As a global leader of innovative marketing services for the technology industry, The Channel Company partners with vendors and solution providers to help them accelerate their revenue, expand their ecosystems, and ultimately transform their businesses. We work as an extension of your team, using our unequaled IT channel expertise, strategies, and solutions to deliver the integrated, outcome-based results you need through:

  • Strategy, consulting, and thought leadership
  • Industry-leading events, media, and leadership networks
  • Full service to and through partner marketing

The Channel Company values differences because they enhance dynamic teams. We know that the confidence gap can get in the way of connecting with the best candidates. Please do not hesitate to apply – we would be honored to connect with you.

Role Overview:

We are looking for a Content Strategist who can deliver excellent enterprise technology content, understand what makes a great content strategy, and work with internal and external stakeholders to deliver long-term results.

The preferred candidate will be able to demonstrate a strong track record in content production, either as a marketer or with a background in journalism, be comfortable networking with clients and working closely with a sales team.

You’ll also need to have a good commercial mindset, understanding what will resonate with technology decision-makers, how to structure a campaign accordingly, and how to make this appeal to marketing buyers.

The day to Day:

  • You will be writing and editing content, reports and white papers on diverse technology subjects – including cyber security, AI, data, and cloud.
  • You will present research at our live online events, work on discussion frameworks for panel debates, and appear on camera interviewing IT leaders and senior professionals for content and research purposes
  • You’ll be working in a truly creative, multi-disciplinary team encompassing researchers, digital designers, marketers and other writers.
  • Curiosity and fresh ideas are essential as we pursue different topics and angles to find the stories and formats that satisfy both our audiences and our clients.
  • Article, case study, report and white paper writing
  • Create and execute industry research projects
  • Creation of thought leadership content that demonstrates our technology marketing expertise to the market
  • Production of discussion frameworks for online webinars
  • Presenting research results in online webinars
  • Creative copy writing
  • Leading client and internal project calls from the content perspective
  • Collaborating with sales on proposals.
  • Working with the Head of Content & Thought Leadership and Senior Content Strategist to develop products and the commercial proposition

What you will offer:

  • Good understanding of technology – such as cloud, cyber security, automation, and data – and the enterprise technology marketplace
  • Proven ability as a technology writer – with at least 3 years’ experience in editorial or commercial writing roles
  • A commercial mindset with an understanding of the marketing priorities and challenges facing client enterprise technology companies
  • A trusted voice to clients when it comes to advising on content marketing strategy and enterprise technology topics.
  • An understanding of what makes great content marketing
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to interpret, analyse, and visualise survey-based research findings
  • The ability to work collaboratively with other writers, designers, videographers, sales and marketing teams
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to plan and prioritise multiple projects
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Ability to manage business relationships at senior levels

What we value:

  • Experience in an enterprise technology commercial/thought leadership content creation role
  • Experience of quantitative technology research projects
  • Experience of a client-facing B2B role
  • Experience of presenting to camera or panel discussions
  • Degree level qualification in a creative writing discipline, journalism or relevant technology field.
