Description
I am seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join an innovative team for one of my clients who specialise in computer software. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of our data infrastructure, ensuring the efficient and secure management of our company's data assets. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to analyze data needs, design and build scalable data solutions, and provide data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities
Designing, developing, and maintaining the company's data infrastructure, pipelines, and ETL processes
Collaborating with data scientists, analysts, and product managers to understand data requirements and translate them into effective data solutions
Implementing data quality controls and ensuring data integrity and consistency across systems
Building and optimizing data models, architecture, and schemas to support business intelligence and reporting needs
Identifying and solving complex data engineering problems, such as data streaming, data cleansing, data transformation, and data governance
Managing large datasets efficiently and optimizing data storage and retrieval for performance and scalability
Keeping up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in data engineering and incorporating them into our data ecosystem
Requirements
Proven experience as a Data Engineer, preferably in a senior or lead role
Strong proficiency in programming languages Python
Expertise in designing and building data pipelines using ETL tools like Apache Spark or Apache Beam
Experience with cloud-based data warehousing solutions such as Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, or Snowflake
Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases
Familiarity with data modeling techniques and implementing efficient database schemas
Knowledge of distributed systems, containerization, and container orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong communication and teamwork abilities
Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
