About Us:

Evolve Therapeutic Fostering is an evidence-based therapeutic service working across Kent and South London. We are different, unique and extremely passionate about changing the face of fostering. Our unique evidence-based therapeutic approach to fostering puts the foster parents at the centre of our team and ensures the child or young person’s voice is encompassed in all that we do.

We work with our Clinical Partner, Connect B4 Correct, to create bespoke interventions to our Children and Young People; as well as our Foster Parents and wider teams to ensure that everyone receives the support and skills required to work to the best of their ability.


Overall person specification:

We would want you to have an empathic understanding of the nature of the foster Parent task, an ability to communicate effectively with Foster Parents, young people, social work colleagues within the agency and local authority and colleagues.

You must also have proven skills of communication with traumatised children and young people in the care system, have a good knowledge of attachment issues and the impact of trauma upon their development and interpersonal skills. We would also want you to work as an effective team player; understand the systems and legislation operating within the fostering team, have proven organisational skills and the ability to put people from all service sections at their ease.

Your Responsibilities:

  • To Support and supervise Foster Parents.
  • Promote training & development.
  • To work closely with the team around the child to ensure the best outcomes.
  • To work flexibly around the needs of the service.

Requirements:

  • A recognised social worker qualification (Degree; MA; BA; Dip S/W).
  • Experience of working with children and families.
  • Must hold a full UK driving license, have use of a vehicle and be confident in travelling.
  • Must be registered with HCPC
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of, and an understanding of relevant legislation and minimum standards relation to fostering.
  • Ability to use ICT effectively to fulfil job responsibilities.
  • The energy and enthusiasm to excel within our agency.
