We have a current opportunity for a Signalling CEM on a contract basis.

This is for a Tier 1 Rail Client, to work on a number of different Framework contracts, and large scale Signalling Projects.


Its extremely important that the successful Signalling CEM, is a very experienced and knowledgeable within Signalling, and has worked up from the levels through Design/CRE/CEM etc etc.


Some purposes of the Role (Full extensive JD can be provided) -

- Ensure that allocated project's design and construction are carried out in accordance with all relevant standards and company procedures. Maintain the highest levels of quality on all projects with safety of the line as a key performance indicator.

- Advise project and programme management in respect of all construction activities, testing and commissioning, and site supervision.

- Monitor engineering performance, acting promptly to address any engineering issues that arise during the delivery of all projects.

- Identify relevant design and construction risks and work with both design and construction teams to implement suitable controls.

- Identify & deliver an appropriate audit & assurance program throughout the internal & external supply chain for projects.


Some key Areas of Responsibility & Accountability (Full list/JD can be provided) -

- Work as directed by the Senior Engineering Manager

- Undertake as required the role of Contractor's Engineering Manager (CEM)

- Accountable for engineering management on allocated projects and workstreams

- Interface with the Programme Managers, Design Managers, CEM's, CRE's and Subcontractors to develop integrated construction and risk review processes and services to client.

- Ensure that relevant staff are briefed on their duties under Construction regulations (CDM, LOLER and ROGS)

- Brief changes in Client's and Company procedures, engineering standards, engineering processes and legislation's to relevant staff


This is a long term freelance role, and will be Inside IR35, rate will vary dependent on the candidate, and level of experience, anywhere from £550 - £650 per day. This is it be discussed on initial call after application.


The clients offices are based in Swindon, and there will be a requirement of 3 days working in the Swindon office.

There could be occasional times where you are needed to go to sites and other offices.
