London, UK, United Kingdom Kids Industries: The Family Agency Full time

Summary of the opportunity

At Kids Industries (KI), we are globally recognized as the leading Insight, Strategy, and Creative Agency for the family market, dedicated to crafting strategic and creative solutions that enhance life experiences for children and families. KI works on exciting and rewarding projects, uncovering insights and collaborating with top names in entertainment, education, and FMCG, including LEGO, Pokémon, Star Wars, Danone, McDonald’s, and more.

As our research team expands, we are seeking a Senior Quantitative Researcher with several years of proven experience in a research agency to join us.

As a Senior Quantitative Researcher, you will lead independent research projects, manage client and team relationships, and apply primary research methods to provide strategic insights. You'll execute all stages of a quantitative project to deliver impactful reports rich in analysis and story-telling.

To thrive in this role, you should have held a similar position for at least two years and established research and reporting best practices. You are passionate about working within an insight-driven culture and solving questions and puzzles relevant to children and family space.

Team Overview

The Research team collaborates with both the Design and Strategy teams on a range of projects.

The Senior Quantitative Researcher will report directly to the Associate Research Director. No direct reports at this moment, but the senior team member would mentor more junior researchers if working together on a project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage quantitative projects from inception to completion:

  • Design and develop research methodologies to address specific business questions

  • Create and administer surveys, ensuring proper sampling and data collection

  • Craft engaging surveys - with experience in more straightforward questionnaires or ones exploring more complex phenomena or employing innovative quantitative methods (e.g. global studies, different routing options, more visual work …)

  • Manage the survey roll out: including scripting, setting up quotas and checking in on completion N.B. We currently use Forsta ConfirmIt for scripting and table-based analysis, which we do in house. We would train you in the specifics of Forsta, but would require you to have a strong understanding of another research platform (e.g. Decipher, Survey Monkey etc.) as the logic will translate.

  • Analyse and interpret large data sets

  • Storytelling, reporting and presenting

  • Nurture the talents of young researchers

  • Nurture an active interest in our sector and in your craft:

What about mixed methods?

We do a lot of mixed methods work, so if you are a fantastic mixed methods researcher, feel free to apply.

We are looking for someone to thrive in the quantitative role - but are able to support journeys of experts who are passionate about both types of work.

About you:

  • At least two years’ experience as a Research Manager / Senior Researcher and at least four in commercial quantitative research, most of it agency side
  • First-hand experience of conducting a range of research methodologies and a track-record of high standard quantitative research projects
  • You have an exceptional ability to communicate complex research findings clearly and effectively at all levels
  • An interest in working with children and family audiences, helping to create interesting and meaningful brands, stories and products.
  • Calm under pressure and quick on your feet - agencies can be busy, but are also hugely collaborative, exciting environments. We’re looking for someone who can thrive in this space, meaning you know how to manage your time, prioritise tasks, collaborate with your team and excel at the job.

What’s In It For You?

  • We pay well, and we have high-quality, free health insurance
  • There’s a company pension scheme, and yes, you do need to be thinking about it now
  • 20 days of holiday, plus all Bank Holidays (obviously), and we’re totally closed over Christmas and New Year, which is five extra days of holiday
  • If you wake up feeling like you want to put your head under the covers, then you can because we offer a duvet day and also a birthday day off- so it’s really 27 days of holiday in total, plus bank holidays
  • Two paid days a year for volunteering
  • Hybrid, flexible working
  • Structured training opportunities and development plans that make you an expert. No, really
  • We are committed to a healthy work-life balance
  • Amazing opportunities for career progression - you will get to do things your peers dream of
  • A truly supportive team and culture that wants you to succeed massively
  • We’ve got a lovely cycle-to-work scheme if you love a bike ride
  • Free food, drink and goodies in the office. You need never buy breakfast again. And yes, there is a beer and wine fridge too.
  • Team breakfast once a week.
  • And finally, the work, strange but true. Working with children and family audiences is all about making a business fun, and if you let it, it can be. Please take a look at our site to see the kinds of things we do.
