Restructuring Solicitor, 3-7 PQE, London – Global Law Firm


Our client is seeking a 3-7PQE Restructuring Solicitor to join their London office, focusing on high-profile restructuring and insolvency matters. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex transactional, advisory, and debt restructuring cases, with exposure to challenging and varied work in a collaborative, market-leading team.

The Role:


The successful candidate will be an integral part of the London restructuring team, which specialises in handling a broad range of restructuring and insolvency matters. Key responsibilities include:


  • Advising on Distressed Debt and Restructuring: Acting on behalf of financial institutions, turnaround professionals, company directors, and other stakeholders on strategies for recovery and business turnaround. This includes advising on complex finance agreements, security, and intercreditor arrangements in a distressed context.
  • Transaction and Advisory Work: Leading on debt refinancings and restructurings, business restructurings, and asset sales, and offering strategic guidance to maximise value for stakeholders and, where possible, avoid formal insolvency processes.
  • Building Client Relationships: Developing ongoing relationships with an established client base and assisting in pitching for new business. You will work closely with colleagues from across the firm’s international network to deliver seamless service on multi-jurisdictional projects.
  • Special Situations Practice: Engaging in high-profile assignments involving high-risk and complex scenarios where insolvency is not imminent but may become likely, providing creative and commercially sound solutions.


Ideal candidate:


To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Experience gained in a reputable City, national, or regional firm, ideally in restructuring and insolvency work.
  • A strong technical background in finance agreements and debt restructurings.
  • A proactive, commercial approach to solving complex legal problems and a keen interest in business development.
  • Excellent academic credentials, communication, and organisational skills.
  • A collaborative, team-oriented attitude, and the ability to work effectively within a large international team.
