We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join a technical team. This role will focus on conducting essential analyses to develop and release cutting-edge, bespoke products for the specialty fuels market. Serving industries such as downstream Oil Majors, Automotive, Aerospace, and Motorsport, you will play a crucial role in ensuring high-quality results and contributing to our reputation for excellence in fuel solutions.


As a Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for executing a variety of laboratory tasks while ensuring compliance with HSE guidelines and internal quality standards. You will work closely with the Laboratory Supervisor to meet tight deadlines and deliver analytical excellence, maintaining the highest level of service for our diverse clients.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct analysis on fuel, components, pilots, and water samples in line with industrial practices.
  • Calibrate and standardize laboratory equipment following Laboratory Quality Management System (LQMS) protocols.
  • Independently blend a wide range of laboratory fuel blends and prepare additive solutions to consistent standards.
  • Collaborate with the Laboratory Supervisor to ensure top-tier quality is maintained across all work.
  • Proactively identify and raise non-conformities or areas for improvement, contributing to continuous enhancement of laboratory practices.
  • Support the Laboratory Quality Management System, ensuring adherence to established processes.
  • Prepare Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) in compliance with legislation, meeting business deadlines as needed.
  • Manage operational aspects of specialized projects such as ICPMS.


Key Requirements:

  • Degree in Chemistry or equivalent is highly preferred.
  • Previous experience working in a laboratory setting is desirable.
  • Familiarity with fuel laboratory tests is a strong advantage.
  • Strong technical knowledge and ability to troubleshoot problems creatively.
  • Excellent organisational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • A proactive mindset, eager to contribute to continuous improvement in quality systems.
  • Ability to think both critically and holistically, while managing tasks under pressure.
  • HSE-focused, with a commitment to safety and best practices.
