Programme Manager - Supply Chain - 6 month contract - day rate negotiable - Hybrid working
We have an exciting opportunity for an immediately available Programme Manager with extensive supply chain and retail experience to join us on an initial 6-month contract, Hybrid working where you must be willing to travel UK/abroad to a different depot 2-3 day's per week(travel expenses covered)

Purpose of the Role
Primark’s supply chain is on a journey to modernise and future proof our logistics operations, with large scale investment in distribution automation and optimization across the portfolio alongside expansion to meet our store growth roadmap ensuring optimal service to our retail colleagues.
To ensure the successful delivery of this programme we are seeking a seasoned Programme Manager to drive the full global programme of work across construction, fit out, MHE, IT and operational work streams, to ensure that projects are delivered to their agreed objectives against safety, quality, cost and time.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Ensure that all projects are delivered with a Safety-First Mindset. In accordance with Primark’s Safe Today, Safe Tomorrow principle.
• Lead the implementation of a series of linked key projects that together deliver the supply chain business objectives for Primark.
• Provide a single point of accountability as the primary point of contact for all matters relating to the programme of work.
• Work with external suppliers and internal functional teams to ensure a coordinated approach to programme implementation to maximise synergies and cost efficiencies.
• Ensure timely delivery of all projects supporting the company’s core objectives with appropriate programme governance in place.
• Ensure Projects are delivered in a manner that conforms with to relevant standards and guidelines (ie. Legal frameworks / regional regulations)
• Where required manage individual projects as well as the overall programme.
• Work with stakeholders to agree scope, feasibility, business case, costs, programme/project timeline to ensure projects are sequenced correctly and are signed off
• Develop programme budgets, monitor and report progress against these to the project steering group.
• Actively manage the programme against milestones and specifications and manage any change to individual project scope.
• Provide impact assessments for changes to timings and scope within the project and ensure that change requests are managed per defined processes.
• Ensure that controls and measures are in place to assure quality of deliverables.
• Manage the risks and issues ensuring they are communicated and mitigated so that the business is kept fully informed of progress, and impact on external & internal customers is minimised.
• Understand and monitor internal dependencies and external dependencies to other projects and programmes.
• Management of a significant financial budget, working with Project Mangers/Work-Stream leads to track costs, monitor resource allocation and develop project plans.
• Effectively manage the relationship with our stakeholders and identify further project opportunities as they arise.
Skills & Experience
Essential
• Educated to degree level with 5+ years of Senior Project/Programme Management experience.
• Supply Chain and Retail Programme Management experience is essential across multiple geographies.
• Knowledge of programme and project management methodology and managing full lifecycle of programmes from definition to final delivery
• Track record of managing multiple Supply Chain projects at the same time
• Used to working effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines, maintaining risk and cost constraints at critical points in the programme/project.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to use different media to communicate in the most effective manner for the situation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills that will allow you to effectively communicate with stakeholders and external customers.
• Direct and indirect people management experience within a programme context, leading through influence
• Flexible. Able to deal with ambiguity throughout the lifecycle of a project where key objectives may change.
• Track record of programme delivery with individual project budgets of at least £20m+, managing and forecasting effectively.
• The ability to manage relationships between a variety of stakeholder groups, notably other business functions, ICT functions, project managers, business analyst and key suppliers.
• Strong team working skills inspiring trust and acting as a catalyst for success.
• Ability to understand complex business processes quickly.
• Be a natural self-starter and able to lead teams through complex projects.
Desirable
• Experience of general retail and supply chain processes and be able to demonstrate effective interaction with 3PL’s, external suppliers, buying & merchandising, IT, finance and retail functions.
• Ability to engage and influence at a senior level of the Primark business.
• Understanding of technology directions and WMS systems an advantage
The suitable candidate for this contract would have worked on multiple global projects across multiple geographies' running simultaneously. You will need to be a self-starter and be accustomed to regular travel each week.
