Assistant Buyer

Job Description

  • Sourcing and placing orders for contract and non-contract items using MRP reports and manual requisitions.
  • Negotiating lower pricing and maintaining supplier details on the MRP system.
  • Monitoring supplier performance, developing improvement programs, and maintaining minimum stock levels.
  • Adjusting MRP parameters for timely availability and appropriate batch sizes.
  • Assisting stores and production control with stocktaking and progressing work through the factory.


Assistant Buyer

Essential Experience/Skills/Qualifications

  • Strong experience of using MRP/ERP/SAP or similar systems.
  • Experience placing and reviewing purchase orders and updating parts and supplier and customer data.
  • Knowledge of MS Office.
