THE BUSINESS
Westray Recruitment Group is seeking to recruit a Product Development Engineer who has a strong background working within the 2-way radio market for our client based in the Teesside area.
Our client is a market leader in the hire and sale of high quality 2-way communication systems and in the design and installation of complex communications solutions. The business has a heavy commitment to customer care and to providing technical support, rapid response repairs and their top-quality service is demonstrated by them being accredited with European ISO-9001 quality standards.
The organisation has placed massive investment within its sites, product portfolio and service delivery standards. The business also has excellent links with manufacturers. They believe heavily in training and development and not only do they invest in staff, but also technology in order to future proof the business.
The business is financially strong, they have a brilliant reputation in the market and they are heavily ambitious. The organisation currently has around 30 plus staff members and a £4M annual turnover, set to grow to £5M this year.
THE ROLE
As a Product Development Engineer (presales) you will take a technical lead position and liaise with internal and external stakeholders in creating, sourcing, planning and delivering products and communication solutions. You will manage projects and work with the existing engineering and sales teams to overcome any technical issues encountered.
- To support the company’s growth and profitability goals by being responsible for assisting the organisations customers inprojects and assignments
- To take a technical lead position in turning customer needs into product solutions
- To evaluate, propose, prepare and verify technical solutions until their final deployment
- To work with business partners to shape complex communications solutions
- To coordinate technical deliverables and manage day to day aspects of the project
- To provide presales technical assistance to customers, partners and sales staff in introducing and configuring products and solutions
- To engage at conferences and stakeholder meetings as a technical expert and/or project coordinator
- Working closely with sales teams to understand client requirements and objectives
- Access client needs and recommend the most suitable radio communication solutions
- Conduct product demonstrations and technical presentations to potential clients
- Collaborate with the technical team to provide input on product recommendations and design ideas
- Provide pre-sales technical support and responding to partner queries
- Assist in creating technical proposals and documentation for clients
- Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies in the radio communication field
- Travelling to support the business
THE PERSON
- From a radio engineer background with broad knowledge of radio communications systems & technologies
- Open to travel
- Qualified in electrical engineering, telecommunications, or a related field
- Excellent communication
- Well organised and capable of handling a programme of multiple projects
- Customer facing skills
- Polite and well mannered
- Ability to manage own workload
