This pivotal and exciting role forms part of the Quilter Change Leadership Team (LT) working closely with peers to ensure a high level of collaboration and accountability. Reporting to the Head of Change and responsible for leading the delivery of strategic large scale, transformational and/or complex business and IT change programmes across Quilter Portfolios.
You will work with a variety of stakeholders up to and including Quilter Exco, to drive decision making and maintain delivery momentum in a growing, fast paced environment. This is a hugely significant role and will require both a strategic and tactical ability.
All candidates who have an extensive Programme Delivery background delivering through both internal and external suppliers, and who are comfortable managing and leading large cross site teams both as a direct line manager and across a matrix management organisation are welcome to apply.
This role will demonstrate success by helping to ensure the Change function can be relied upon to be Quilter's primary engine for the delivery of business and technology change through the successful delivery of key transformational programmes of work that are aligned to Quilter's strategic goals.

The Programme Director leads and manages a defined set of interdependent projects and the associated business change activities for large-scale, transformational and / or complex business and IT change programmes, working in partnership with key stakeholders to ensure delivery in line with agreed milestones, priorities, standards, risk appetite and budget.
They will define programme organisation structures and manage the delivery of the action plan, define deliverables, milestones and document interdependencies. In addition, they will manage relationships with stakeholders to resolve issues and develop solutions to ensure the improvement of all processes to achieve successful outcomes.
Through Planning and Governance this role will lead the Change delivery plans within the programme utilising best practices to ensure appropriate services and solutions are proposed, planned, resourced, governed, reported and delivered in alignment with the defined Portfolio requirements. This includes the identification of opportunities where external support may be beneficial to Quilter to maximise the benefits to Quilter's customers and strategic objectives or mitigate operational, business and delivery risk.
The Leadership and people management focus of this role will prioritise and manage capability and capacity of the programme team and sourced services in order to balance demand and efficiency and ensure the effective delivery of the programme. This role will directly line manage Programme Manager roles and for virtual (dotted line) team members you will provide feedback to relevant line managers.
You will contribute to the Communities of Practice (BA, PM and PMO) to help shape improved or new ways of working. This relates to ensuring Change and programme delivery is aligned to and delivered in accordance with Quilter policies and standards and Community of Practice guidelines.
Successful candidates will be comfortable setting out and clearly communicating a compelling vision for the programme, establishing a strong direction, and ensuring the team are fully aligned and understand their contribution to the programme and to Quilter's ambitions.
This role will develop the programme team's capability and ensure the appropriate balance of skills and expertise to achieve sustainable business performance while actively enabling collaboration across Quilter and building a climate that values diversity of thought and promotes honest and open communication. It will provide effective feedback and coaching through regular check-ins with team members and identifying development needs to support employees in achieving their career goals.
This role requires the creation of an effective strategy and action plan to address any long term demands of the programme. In addition, any in-flight immediate issues need to be managed appropriately.
The role also requires a programmatic approach to the management of risks and issues ensuring they are impact-assessed, mitigated, and escalated where appropriate. In addition, we need programme performance, progress against milestones, appropriateness, and quality of work to be actively managed and monitored and where necessary corrective action taken, whilst building trust and confidence in all stakeholder groups.
A key deliverable will be managing and monitoring the programme budget while providing appropriate guidance and decision making. We also need a comprehensive and ongoing review of processes used in project delivery while rating the causes that need to be addressed, the necessary action, and delivery of these.
In addition, this role has a significant Service Improvement and Change Delivery focus whereby it leads Change programmes within the defined business unit / function working in partnership with key stakeholders to ensure delivery in line with agreed metrics, milestones, priorities, standards, and budget. As such we are looking for someone who is comfortable working closely with key internal stakeholders, up to and including Quilter ExCo. You will also need to forge and maintain a solid working partnership with any key external 3rd Party stakeholders and their programme teams. It is key a strong relationship is built with any strategic partners in order to achieve successful programme outcomes.

This role will be best suited to those with deep subject matter expertise, both business and technology alongside excellent communication skills. You will need a strong technology background, including significant experience managing development and technical teams and their deliverables. This should cover new and emerging technologies.
We are looking for someone who has experience driving innovation and challenging the status quo along with credible experience of complex technology Change delivery (both agile and waterfall). We need someone with proven experience of working with, managing, and delivering through third party suppliers while managing Change across complex applications estates. This role needs someone who has demonstrated experience driving IT transformation through innovation and the use of technology.
Excellent stakeholder management skills demonstrating the ability to translate technical and complex challenges into simple, clear updates, issues and/or risks for senior stakeholders. We want someone who can translate highly technical details into a digestible format that can aid decision making.
