Senior Quantity Surveyor

My client is a Principal Contractor based in Central London growing at an impressive rate. They work with Architects, Building Surveyors, Surveyors and Managing Agents to execute JCT contracts to the value of £50k - £3m. Their specialism started with external refurbishments of traditional buildings however a growing percentage of our projects now include CAT A (+) office and warehouse refurbishments.


The Applicant will be required to manage the above type of construction projects in London and surrounding areas, liaising with the operations team and clients to ensure projects are profitable and executed in accordance with their contracts.



Responsibility

  • Building and nurturing relationships with Client Representatives to facilitate activities and maintain positive relations on behalf of the Company.
  • Attending regular site meetings and effectively communicating updates while also tracking and resolving any issues.
  • Conducting tender analysis for various projects.
  • Overseeing subcontract purchasing and monitoring package progress on site.
  • Monitoring contra charges and notifying sub-contractors accordingly.
  • Handling sub-contractor re-measurement, as well as interim and final account payments.
  • Preparing final accounts at the project’s conclusion.
  • Monitoring and reporting costs
  • Forecasting project cash flow
  • Staying updated on industry changes and the competitive environment in which the company operates.
  • Planning and executing additional duties and projects as assigned.



Requirements

  • Proven experience working on refurbishment projects
  • Superb written and oral communication skills, including the ability to provide and explain accurate reporting.
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities at once.
  • Experience with proven track record in dealing with Subcontractors and Clients in relation to Valuations, Variations, Final Accounts and cost reporting
