As a Data Engineer at LexisNexis Intellectual Property (LNIP), you will be designing, building, and maintaining complex data systems to support business needs. Utilizing your expertise, you’ll contribute to maintaining a Data Platform that serves our crucial and critical product. Your role will be critical in ensuring the integrity, security, and accessibility of business-critical data.



Responsibilities


  • Performing daily data loads, ensuring recurring updates are logged and tracked efficiently using SQL-based tools.
  • Interfacing with technical personnel to document, interpret, and finalize SQL-related requirements for data engineering projects.
  • Designing and working with complex data models, optimizing them for SQL-based database systems.
  • Performing routine database administration tasks, including monitoring performance, managing backups, index optimization, and ensuring data integrity
  • Innovating process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of SQL-based data management.
  • Identifing opportunities to automate tasks to improve overall efficiency in data engineering processes.



Requirements


  • Demonstrate advanced proficiency in SQL, including complex queries, performance tuning, and database administration (DBA) tasks.
  • Demonstrate expertise in data manipulation language optimization techniques
  • Demonstrate understanding of normalized and dimensional data modelling principles
  • Experience in multiple data storage subsystems, with a focus on SQL-based databases
  • Display knowledge of industry best practices in data engineering, with a specific focus on SQL
  • Demonstrate understanding of automation and other tools to increase efficiency in SQL-based data engineering tasks
  • Show expertise in development languages, particularly SQL, Java/J2EE, JavaScript, JSP, and C/C++.
