This is an exciting role as a Junior Designer working on a key global client account, with UK and International office furnishing projects running simultaneously. Working together with a Designer and Senior Designer on the account, you will be engaging with our key global client stakeholders across various departments throughout all stages to help deliver the projects. You will be working on a variety of project scales, working closely with the consultant teams for design coordination and regulatory approvals all within tight deadlines. Working on the global client account provides varied opportunities and unique challenges, and together with your colleagues you will collaborate with key manufacturers and suppliers throughout the UK, Europe and Internationally.


Day to day tasks include creating product specification packs, space planning, visualising products and settings, product take-offs, as well as conducting research and creating supporting presentational documents. You will carry out essential administrative design duties and this role will allow you to learn and develop your product knowledge and skills. As a member of the Tsunami design team your knowledge and expertise may be required by your colleagues on projects outside of your key client; Tsunami prioritise collaboration and teamwork to ensure we support all of our colleagues across the business.


The role would ideally suit someone with a background and experience within Commercial Office Design, along with at least one years experience or placement in a design practice. You will have essential software experience in Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and also in AutoCAD – 2D. This role is fast-paced and requires someone with initiative, drive and excellent communication skills.


Key responsibilities

  • Taking ownership of specification packs, proposals and product playbook for client review ​and sign off
  • Furniture overlays, space planning and installation, including O&M manuals
  • Creating 2D blocks and technical drawings
  • Liaising with manufacturers and suppliers to arrange samples
  • Visualisation and graphics for client presentations
  • Conducting and collating research to present to the client and wider business
  • Co-ordinating the overall design process from the initial brief; to the final install, ensuring a high standard of design support is provided throughout
  • Everyday design support for the client account
  • Attend workshops, client meetings, and site with the wider team to review and sign off ​projects


Essential Skills:

  • Background and experience within Commercial Office Design
  • 1 year + experience or placement in a design practice.
  • Experience in Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Attention to detail and excellent proofing skills
  • Technical understanding of current space planning regulations
  • Ability to work within a team environment
  • Efficient time management and organisation, running multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated high performance standards and meeting deadlines
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Comfortable and confident in presenting to clients
  • Self-starting approach and initiative
  • Problem solving mindset and willingness to learn and develop further
  • A high level of enthusiasm and creativity is essential

The Junior Designer role is a permanent, full-time position based in our London office close to Euston Station with flexible, hybrid working available (after 6 months probation).
