Role Overview:


You will be responsible for managing all aspects of housing law cases, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery. Your role will include:


- Handling casework promptly and efficiently.

- Communicating clearly and regularly with clients, adhering to client care requirements.

- Staying abreast of legal developments, particularly in housing law.

- Recording time spent on casework promptly and ensuring cases are billed and payments recorded.

- Managing routine correspondence, negotiations, and advocacy where appropriate.

- Collaborating with colleagues across departments to provide a comprehensive service to clients.

- Analysing legal matters and advising clients on appropriate actions.

- Undertaking administrative tasks to ensure smooth departmental operations.

- Providing supervision and reporting to supervisors as needed.


Skills and Experience Required:


- Extensive experience and knowledge of housing law, including possession, disrepair, and tenancy dispute proceedings.

- Ability to meet the Legal Aid Agency (LAA) supervisor requirements.

- Strong working knowledge of the legal aid scheme and Client and Cost Management System (CCMS).

- Effective communication skills with diverse client groups.

- Enthusiasm for business development.

- Proven ability to create and maintain client contacts.

- Excellent oral, telephone, and written communication skills.

- Strong problem-solving abilities.

- Proficiency in IT.

- Commercial awareness.

- Current Practising Certificate (or CiLEX equivalent).

- Minimum of 2 years’ post-qualification experience (PQE).
