UK, UK, United Kingdom DRPG Full time

Your reason for being here…

Our Digital team is currently undergoing an agile transformation and we are looking for an energetic, extraordinary, and experienced Product Owner to shape some of our most prolific projects and to help steer the future of product delivery within our team.

The way you roll…

You’re a Product superstar, equally adept at capturing requirements as prioritising your backlog (not a euphemism). You are able to see the big, glorious picture, managing the product roadmap and ensuring that stakeholder wishes are effectively balanced with commercial realities. A brilliant listener with a creative vision and meticulous attention to detail, you’ll have no problem acting on our ‘anything’s possible’ philosophy here at DRPG.

The right person will blend in with our friendly and collaborative company culture and, rest assured, we all share tea and coffee making duties - milk, no sugar

How you make it all possible…

  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to analyse needs and maintain a product backlog according to business value or ROI, aligning the product roadmap to strategic goals
  • Owning the product roadmap and identifying and acting upon growth opportunities
  • Developing scope and defining backlog items (including writing epics/features/user stories/acceptance criteria) that guide the Agile software development team
  • Assessing value, developing cases, planning and prioritizing stories, epics and themes to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value that are aligned with product strategy
  • Serving as the voice of the client, providing vision and direction to the team and stakeholders throughout the project
  • Controlling product scope and effectively managing document change requirements
  • Providing an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals
  • Setting sprint goals and plan releases, iterations and upgrades
  • Providing a data driven approach - reporting on key product metrics and understanding and managing team velocities
  • Possessing a fundamental understanding of end-to-end customer experience integration and dependencies
  • Acting as an ambassador for the product internally and externally and as the primary contact for queries related to the product
  • Representing our team in front of stakeholders, clients or users
  • Keeping abreast with Agile/Scrum best practices and new trends and help to refine our use of agile methodology based on results and client feedback

What’s in your toolbox…

  • 2+ years proven experience as owner of complex digital product(s) in an Agile environment, ideally within an agency
  • In-depth knowledge of Scrum and Agile software development methodologies
  • Ability to use a range to tools to prioritise features and value effectively
  • A creative thinker with a clear vision for how a digital product should manifest
  • A strategic thinker, able to see the big picture and cut through stakeholder noise in order to make the best decisions for all users of the product
  • Experience with a definition of minimum marketable features and minimum viable products
  • Proficiency in the use of analytic tools to track user value and team velocity
  • Practical experience employing both Agile (Scrum, Kanban and ‘Scrumban’) and waterfall project management techniques
  • The ability to get the best out of your team
  • Exceptional organisational skills and ability to prioritise your workload
  • Excellent knowledge of the software development life cycle
  • Detailed knowledge of a workflow management tool - we use JIRA but experience of other tools (Azure DevOps, Trello etc.) will be considered
  • Experience using a project management tool such as Smartsheets or MS Project
  • Outstanding communication, presentation and leadership skills
  • Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail
  • Cracking interpersonal skills and an impressive talent for developing relationships with team members and customers

Get to know us…

We’re one of the most unexpectedly all-round capable communications agencies that’s been on the go for years – ever since our head honcho set up shop in a shed back in 1980, in fact.

Since then, we’ve made it our mission to make anything possible for our many and varied clients, putting our creative flair into delivering strategic communication campaigns, digital solutions, film and videos, events, exhibitions, and a whole lot more in between. We’ve grown a lot, but we’ve kept everything that made us great, back from the very day we first started out. Our global HQ and largest studios are smack bang in the middle of the UK and well worth a visit to see for yourself

Hang on, there’s more…

The role will be based primarily in Hartlebury, but there will be times when you’ll need to work from other places and undertake other related commercial duties both in the UK and overseas. Flexibility is key

We’re a friendly team. We really, really welcome anyone who wants to become part of a brilliant company. If you’re passionate, with a cracking drive to deliver on our ‘anything’s possible’ mindset, we’d love to hear from you.

DRPG is an equal opportunities employer. We’re committed to building a diverse, inclusive, and authentic workplace where everyone can be their best, so if you’re excited about this role, we would love to hear from you and look forward to receiving your application.
