The Role; Director of Finance, Digital & Securities Markets

The Markets Finance team partners with the Markets business on all financial matters and is responsible for the execution of the finance strategy for this exciting and evolving area of the business.

The Director of Finance will lead the finance team working with the Digital & Securities Markets team in the pursuit of innovation, growth, and resiliency. Digital & Securities Markets encompasses Equities (incl. London Stock Exchange Plc), Private Markets and Digital Markets Infrastructure.

This role will report into the Group Head of Finance, Markets and will be responsible for senior level business partnering, leading a team of business partners, ensuring robust processes, and facilitating a commercial mindset across the division. The successful candidate will combine leadership skills with excellent commercial, communication, and technical skills to provide financial leadership for business partnering, M&A, financial modelling, reporting, planning, and forecasting with insightful analysis for decision making.

The responsibilities for this role will include (but not be limited to) the following:
  • Leadership and development of a global business partnering team
  • Business Partnering senior leaders within Markets with focus on providing commercial insight, analysis, and decision support to senior management for strategic initiatives.
  • Finance leadership and accountability for planning, forecasting and business case modelling for exciting initiatives within Markets, including Digital Market Infrastructure and Private Markets (including potential M&A and strategic partnerships)
  • Building a broad product awareness across LSEG to enable support of key deals and to help identify whitespace opportunities for growth
  • A need for strong understanding of commercial strategy and deal dynamics to lead on decision making
  • A requirement to be a robust and trusted advisor to the front-line teams, challenging where necessary and providing strong governance
  • Collaboration with other divisional and central finance teams on cross-finance initiatives
Minimum Requirements
  • People management experience
  • Degree (or equivalent) and relevant professional qualification ACA, CIMA, ACCA (or equivalent)
  • Significant experience in financial analysis, reporting and financial control.
