This highly reputable production house is known for being a key player within the industry and can be credited for producing some of the UKs best loved shows of recent years.

The company predominantly produces scripted and drama series, and currently holds a healthy slate for future productions which means that this is a fantastic time to join this leading media company.


Reporting to the Head of Finance this is a varied and interesting position that will have a lot of interaction around the business and be a mix of financial control & reporting, oversight of the production finances and involvement with the FP&A.

The role will suit a candidate who is fully qualified, with at least 2 years PQE, and ideally have previous relevant experience in a TV/media company or have worked with TV/media companies whilst in an accountancy practice. Candidates at Manager level from practice looking for a move into industry will also be considered, but exposure to TV/Media companies is preferred.

You will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skill, a genuine interest to work in the TV industry and be hungry to further develop your accounting career. There will be real opportunity to grow and develop whilst in this role.

This is a hybrid role that will require you to work in the Central London offices 3-4 days a week.

Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Assist with the preparation of the monthly management reporting packs, highlighting key performance metrics
  • Develop financial reports to provide insights into financial performance and assist with strategic decision making
  • Lead the annual audit process; coordinating with auditors, preparing and reviewing audit schedules and ensuring compliance with relevant standards;
  • Restate the financial statements from IFRS to UK GAAP, ensuring compliance with UK regulations
  • Assist with preparing the annual budget and forecasting process
  • Manage the month end close process ensuring timely/accurate reporting including full balance sheet reconciliation and variance analysis
  • Provide financial support and guidance to Production Accountants and Production Execs to review production cash flow, cost reports, trial balance etc;
  • Review production cost reports and assist with reconciling the production accounts to incorporate into the month end corporate accounts and reporting packs
  • Work with Production financial Controllers, overseeing the financial close-down of each show
  • Manage/oversee an Accounts Assistance, ensuring all ledgers are managed efficiently and effectively
  • Oversee the quarterly VAT and monthly payroll process
  • Continuous improvement of financial processes and controls to mitigate any financial risk

Candidate specification:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent) ideally with at least 1-2 years PQE
  • Minimum of 5 years finance/accounting experience ideally with a strong exposure to the Media/TV/Entertainment industry;
  • Strong working knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP;
  • Hands on experience of financial and group reporting and leading an audit process
  • Confident & credible communication skills with the ability to effectively engage with all levels of colleagues
  • Engaging interpersonal skills with emotional intelligence and a natural gravitas and be able to positively influence others
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Highly organised, self motivated, deadline orientated and great attention to detail
  • Logical and able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Previous TV/Film experience a distinct advantage, a genuine interest in the industry is a must
  • Previous managerial skills would be beneficial
