Join our team as an Apprentice Maintenance Mechanical Fitter and be part of an exciting period of growth within our safety-critical environment. You will play a vital role in maintaining and ensuring the smooth operation of our plant systems, components, and assets. Throughout your apprenticeship, you’ll rotate through different teams, each focused on specific aspects of plant maintenance and repair, working with a wide range of mechanical and specialist equipment.

Entry requirements
England and Wales
- Age 16+
- Five+ GCSEs grade A*-C / 9-4, including English and maths, as well as a Science subject for engineering or technical roles. Please note: some of our trade roles require 5+ GCSEs grade A*-E / 9-3.
Scotland
- Five National 4’s at Grade C or above, including English, Maths (excluding Application of Maths) & Science/Technical. 5 Group awards at National 4 including English and Maths (excluding Application of Maths) & Science or Technical subject.
Some roles may also require additional qualifications or UCAS points.

Export Control/Security
Please be aware that many roles at BAE Systems are subject to both security and export control restrictions. These restrictions mean that factors such as your nationality, any nationalities you may have previously held, and your place of birth can restrict the roles you are eligible to perform within the organisation. All applicants must as a minimum achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard. Many roles also require higher levels of National Security Vetting where applicants must typically have 5 to 10 years of continuous residency in the UK depending on the vetting level required for the role, to allow for meaningful security vetting checks.
