Job Summary : The Minerals Mine Worker is responsible for extracting crude materials such as barite and bentonite from mines. The Minerals Mine Worker operates heavy and mobile equipment used in mining operations, monitors performance and performs maintenance and troubleshooting in the mine environment, as required.
Duties:
- Underground truck and loader operation
- Drilling operations
- Shot firing operations
- Installation of mine services, e.g. cables, water pipe work ventilation ducting
- Assist with maintenance operations
- Mine cycle safety work – roof scaling, roof bolting, mesh installation
- On the job training will be provided
Additional Responsibilities :
- Operate mining production equipment in a safe, efficient and compliant manner. Report deviations to mine management.
- Maintain a safe, clean, environmentally sound work area.
- Communicate with coworkers and management.
- Ensure equipment is maintained in optimal condition using preventative maintenance systems.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts.
- Comfortable in the underground environment
- Ideally experience of operating modern diesel equipment - including the ability to carry out all manual aspects of the role.
- Upon being offered the position, willing to undertake a Police Record Check due to the nature of handling explosives in the role.
- A minimum of 3 years' relevant experience
