The Global Markets In-Business Risk (IBR) is a Front Office 1 st Line of Defense team responsible for market risk across asset classes within Citi's Global Markets division. The team is missioned to establish a holistic understanding of market risk and capital of the aggregated trading portfolio, as well as to optimize business's return on capital. Global Markets IBR covers all trading businesses globally such as Rates and Currencies, Global Spread Products, Commodities, and Global Equities. This role will focus on the implementation of FRTB from within the business, collaborating across 1st and 2nd line to ensure the implementation is commercial, sustainable and in line with regulatory expectations.

This is a role that will help develop a deep understanding of the markets you will be operating in and how they function. By working with many areas of the bank, this role gives you the opportunity to work closely with many of your peers and gain a strong understanding of the various asset classes that make up the markets business, a grounding which as your career develops will provide many opportunities to grow.

Key responsibility include:
  • Understand, support and drive the implementation of FRTB ( Fundamental Review of the Trading Book) at Citi across asset classes, assuring collaboration and coherence in the implementation approach
  • Support the IBR Head of Transformation and Governance in identifying critical gaps, executing gap closure in line with regulatory commitments
  • Support regulatory exams in relation to In-Business Risk and the implementation of FRTB at Citi
  • Maintain focus on key deliverables and prioritizing pragmatic, effective and achievable implementations that align with key gaps and objectives
  • Be organically involved in both driving the solutions needed to implement FRTB, providing detailed accurate status reporting as an inexpensive by-product of engaging in hands on execution
Qualifications:
  • In-depth understanding of front office trading and risk, quantitative modelling for front office valuations or risk calculations, knowledge of related systems and processes which underpin trading
  • Strong analytical, transformation and problem-solving skills are essential, data analytical skills such as python, SQL and Tableau are highly preferred - project management style should be biased towards delivery, rather than status reporting
  • Ability to collaborate and clearly communicate in written and verbal with senior members of an organization
  • Strong interpersonal skills to develop and maintain partnership with both the first and second line of defense, quantitative, technology and controls teams
  • Must have strong attention to detail, be self-motivated and intellectually curious with an interest in financial markets and trading
  • Gravitas and influencing skills to enable collaboration and decision making across the breadth of the organization
  • Track record of regulatory change delivery from within a front office trading environment
  • Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience, STEM Master's degree preferred
