James Adams is working with a fast-growing Fintech company that’s reshaping financial services, and we’re searching for an experienced Head of Credit Risk to help define and drive our credit risk strategy. If you’re an analytical thinker with a strong background in SQL or Python and a proven track record in credit risk management, this could be the ideal role for you.


About the Role:

As the Head of Credit Risk, you will lead a skilled team of 14 credit risk analysts, establishing policies and strategies that ensure balanced risk exposure as the company continues to grow. Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, you’ll use your expertise in SQL or Python to analyse data, build predictive models, and guide the team in making informed, data-backed decisions that enhance portfolio performance.


Key Responsibilities:


Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 14 credit risk professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.

Shape and implement effective credit risk strategies and policies aligned with the company’s ambitious growth plans.

Apply SQL or Python to analyse risk data, create predictive models, and optimize the credit decision-making process.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, and compliance, to support strategic objectives while managing credit risk.

Monitor and report on portfolio performance, proactively identifying and addressing emerging risks.

Requirements:


Significant experience in a credit risk management role, ideally within fintech or financial services.

Advanced skills in SQL or Python, with hands-on experience in data analysis and predictive modelling.

Proven ability to lead, inspire, and develop high-performing teams.

Strong problem-solving abilities and a clear communication style for presenting complex insights to stakeholders.
