The role:

As a key member of the sales team, the successful candidate will sit within the sales structure and pick up a mixed portfolio of retail & wholesale accounts across UK retail. The exact portfolio will be dependent upon experience and suitability.

The aim of the Key Account Manager is to drive profitable growth across accounts in line with company objectives. You will liaise with the wider team, including Ops & Logistics, Finance, Brand and Marketing. You will be given the freedom to create your own mark within your accounts and own relationships and end-to-end processes in a supportive and collaborative atmosphere.

The Ideal Candidate will:

  • Currently work in another B2b sales role ideally within consumer/FMCG business.
  • Have 1 year+ experience in above
  • Be flexible in style and able to build relationships on all levels - from exec, to agents, to independent shop owners.
  • Be of graduate/equivalent level, with a desire to continue to learn and develop
  • Have demonstrable evidence of the following attributes, skills or experience:
  • Track record of success
  • Possess strong customer relationship and communication skills
  • Experience of managing projects across multiple departmental functions with an ability to effectively prioritise.
  • Experience of negotiating with customers/suppliers would be preferred.

Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Being the primary point of contact on named accounts with end-to-end ownership of forecasting/execution/performance
  • Working collaboratively with retailers to increase revenue and profitability. It is crucial to understand each customer's business strategy and tailor ranging to maximise placement on new and existing brands in line with the overall business strategy
  • Leading terms negotiations with customers annually to ensure sustainable growth for the business
  • Working with marketing and brand teams to ensure customers receive decks/sales materials/samples
  • Working with planning and procurement to ensure that volumes are placed in line with agreed forecasts and timescales
  • Working day-to-day with named operations contacts to ensure consistent supply of stock into retail
  • Presenting to customers and the wider team as needed
  • Assisting on projects to drive efficiencies and profitability across the wider team
  • Attending industry events
  • Ad hoc duties and travel as required
