My client is seeking an experienced professional to join their ever-expanding Engineering team. In this role, you will design, develop, and manage cutting-edge solutions that support their global communications services. As a Systems Engineer, you will:

  • Develop bespoke hardware and software solutions to optimise network traffic management and user experience for remote sites and vessels.
  • Design tailored networks for land and sea, incorporating virtualisation, high availability, and seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Manage and enhance Linux-based systems, including VoIP, firewalls, web filtering, and traffic shaping.
  • Collaborate with customers to provide technical expertise, attend meetings, and deliver demonstrations showcasing client solutions.
  • Troubleshoot escalated technical issues while staying updated on the latest IT and communication technologies.

The ideal candidate will be a well-rounded engineer with strong Windows, Cloud and Linux experience, and a track record of working across diverse platforms and systems.


We’re looking for someone with:

  • Solid experience with Linux systems (e.g., CentOS, Ubuntu).
  • A strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, including routing, switching, and firewalling.
  • Familiarity with VoIP platforms (e.g., Asterisk) and traffic shaping techniques.
  • Scripting knowledge (e.g., Bash, Perl).
  • Experience with virtualisation tools (e.g., Docker, VMware). (Preferable)
  • Database management experience with MySQL or similar systems. (Preferable)
  • Knowledge of satellite networks or exposure to diverse IT environments. (Preferable)


This role requires a proactive and adaptable professional with a “can-do” attitude, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Excellent communication skills are essential to effectively engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
