About the role

You will craft and implement feature improvements and maintenance updates for existing software as well as delivering new capabilities and technology updates such as migrating our services to third-party cloud providers

Key Responsibilities

As a member of the IAM development team, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code to automate provisioning and configuration management, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability of our systems.
  • Implement and enhance CI/CD pipelines to facilitate seamless and automated application deployment, testing, and monitoring.
  • Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to foster a culture of collaboration and communication, ensuring the smooth integration of DevOps practices across the organisation.
  • Implement robust monitoring and alerting solutions to proactively identify and address issues, ensuring the availability and performance of critical systems.
  • Leverage cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) to design and implement scalable and resilient solutions, optimizing the use of cloud resources.
  • Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools to streamline operational processes and reduce manual intervention.
  • Participate in incident response and resolution activities, providing expertise to minimize downtime and improve overall system reliability.
  • Create and maintain detailed technical documentation related to infrastructure, configurations, and processes.
  • Use modern development methods, including build and test tools, and agile processes to deliver high-quality services. Your work will include producing deployment artifacts and documentation.
  • Build security and availability into designs from the beginning, including monitoring and data collection for ongoing support and service improvement.
  • Technically lead other DevOps engineers to diagnose issues and design solutions.
Skills & Experience
  • Experience as a Lead DevOps Engineer
  • Experience with Cloud Technologies (Azure and AWS preferred).
  • Experience with scripting and programming languages (e.g. Python, Shell).
  • Expertise in CI/CD Tools (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps etc.)
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g. Kubernetes)
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g. Terraform)
  • Experience of designing solutions and communicating that design to other team members for implementation
  • Strong problem solving skills, diagnosing issues and communicating solutions.
  • Strong understanding of security practices and compliance
  • Position for a developing professional building experience in their specialist function.
  • Suggests process improvement following investigative, analytic, or diagnostic services.
